Arkham Intelligence and DeepGyre are often listed together, but they answer different questions:
This comparison is written by DeepGyre. Every category below has a verdict, including the ones Arkham wins.

Arkham's core platform is free. DeepGyre has a permanent Free tier (10 token scans/day, 3 alert rules, 1 watchlist, 5 tracked wallets), Pro at $20/month and Gold at $70/month. New accounts get a 7-day trial that opens every feature.
DeepGyre's paid plans are paid in crypto from your own wallet, with no card; top-ups are in ETH or USDC on Base (pricing).
Verdict: Arkham. Free is hard to beat, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Arkham's entity pages and labels are its core strength. Its official guide describes a very large named-entity database plus an extensive tags-and-labels set — deeper than ours in entity attribution.
DeepGyre's address labels number about 40.8 million (about 956,000 curated), every import tagged by origin. Its entity book holds about 2,500 verified address claims, many taken from exchanges' own proof-of-reserves disclosures. Two rules shape it:
Verdict: Arkham on coverage. DeepGyre is more explicit about confidence.
DeepGyre's token scanner simulates a buy and then a sell, a few blocks later, against the token's own pool on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Base. It reports whether the sale succeeded, the effective round-trip cost, and whether the token caps the amount you can sell at once. When no sell could be tested, it says "Sell not verified" rather than "safe".
Arkham is not built as a token-safety tool.
Verdict: DeepGyre.
DeepGyre publishes its rules on the Methodology page, and the construction of eighteen metrics in the library. When a source fails, the figure is shown as unavailable with its reason, never as zero.
Verdict: DeepGyre.
Arkham's visualizer is mature and widely used in public investigations. DeepGyre has a wallet flow visualizer with filters by amount, direction and token, grouping of addresses by entity, expanding the next hop in place, and a shareable link to the exact view, plus entity pages and detection of the forged token transfers used in address-poisoning scams. Its investigation tooling is younger.
Verdict: Arkham.
DeepGyre puts Bitcoin on-chain metrics, exchange reserves, derivatives, token unlocks, stablecoin flows and global macro in the same subscription as the scanner. Arkham focuses on entities and flows.
Verdict: DeepGyre, if you want the market view in the same place.
This matters more than the label count suggests. A wrong label is worse than no label: it sends you to the wrong conclusion with full confidence.
DeepGyre records how each entity address claim was established, and shows it:
| Source of the claim | Example | How DeepGyre treats it |
|---|---|---|
| The entity's own disclosure | An exchange's proof-of-reserves wallet list | Highest confidence |
| Curated research | Verified by transaction evidence | High confidence |
| Community-tracked lists | Open-source exchange address lists | Marked community-tracked, never "verified" |
| Inferred from flows | Traced from a known wallet's activity | Marked inferred, lower confidence |
| Two entities claim one wallet | The same cold wallet named for two exchanges | Published as a conflict, or settled with the deciding evidence named |
When a claim is disproved, it is switched off with its reason kept — never silently deleted — so the correction is visible.
Arkham's labels come from its own research and its intelligence marketplace. Its scale is much larger; check how a given label was established before relying on it for a decision.
In Arkham: start from an entity page or an address, open the visualizer, and follow transfers between labeled entities. This is Arkham's home ground, and its graph is fast to read.
In DeepGyre: start from an address profile or an entity page. Open the wallet flow visualizer to follow transfers — filter by amount or token, group addresses by entity, expand the next hop in place and share the view as a link — and check the wallet's history, where forged "USDT" transfers from address-poisoning contracts are flagged and set aside. For a transaction you need to document, a printable receipt names the parties where our labels know them.
For pure fund tracing at scale, Arkham is the stronger tool today. For an investigation that ends in a token decision, or a document you need to file, DeepGyre's scanner and receipts add something Arkham does not.

If you only need attribution, Arkham costs nothing, and that is the honest answer. DeepGyre's Pro price is for token safety testing, smart-money and derivatives tabs, unlimited scans and the market metrics.
You don't have to choose one. A setup many readers will find sensible:
DeepGyre's answers are published on its methodology page. Ask the same questions of any tool you use, including ours.
| If you need… | Choose |
|---|---|
| Free attribution of as many wallets as possible | Arkham |
| Public fund-tracing investigations | Arkham |
| To test a token's sell path before buying | DeepGyre |
| Metrics with published construction | DeepGyre |
| Wallets and market metrics in one place | DeepGyre |
| An analytics tool with no exchange business | DeepGyre |
Many readers will use both: Arkham for attribution, DeepGyre for token safety and methodology-first metrics.
DeepGyre has a free tier with daily limits and a 7-day full trial. Arkham's core is free without a trial. Pro features on DeepGyre — Smart Money, derivatives, unlimited scans — cost $20/month.
Not in attribution: DeepGyre holds about 40.8 million labelled addresses (about 956,000 curated), against the very large entity and label database Arkham's own guide describes (a very large named-entity database plus an extensive tags-and-labels set).
It simulates token buys and sells to detect honeypots, publishes the construction of every metric, and combines Bitcoin on-chain metrics, derivatives, unlocks and macro data with wallet tracking.
Yes. They answer different questions, and both have free access, so running them side by side costs little.
DeepGyre has no data feed or API connection to Arkham. A small number of entity wallets — a few dozen labels — were first identified from Arkham's public explorer and added only after on-chain verification of each address and transfer. Arkham's public labels were also consulted when two exchanges were claimed for the same wallet. Every claim records its source.
For looking up who owns a wallet, Arkham's free interface is simple to start with. For checking whether a token is safe to buy, DeepGyre's scanner gives a direct answer: whether the simulated sale went through, at what cost, and what could not be checked.
Yes. The Free tier has 3 alert rules, Pro has 50, and Gold is unlimited. You can follow a wallet from the whale tracker and be alerted when it moves.
DeepGyre's token scanner registry covers 45 chains. Each chain was admitted only after its endpoints answered as that chain, and the buy/sell simulation runs on three of them: Ethereum, BNB Chain and Base. Third-party reports put Arkham at around 16 or more networks; check Arkham's own documentation for its current list. Coverage differs by feature in both tools, so compare the feature you need rather than the headline count.
No.
